Upon this Earth, our sacred home,
June Fifth returns, as happen every year.
World Environment Day, a solemn plea,
For planet's health, for you, for me.
Our only home, both wild and wise,
Now calls for help beneath the skies.
The forests breathe, the planet's lungs,
Where life begins, where songs are sung.
They hold the rains, they guard the land,
A green defense, a gentle hand.
But when they fall, the balance fades,
And futures vanish into shades.
Beyond the trees, life’s web is spun
In oceans deep and golden sun.
Clean air and water, fertile ground
In nature’s care, all life is found.
Yet finite gifts are stripped away,
By greed that leaves the Earth to pay.
We’ve scarred her soil, we’ve choked her seas,
With plastic tides and poisoned breeze.
Species vanish, rivers dry,
As Earth grows weak beneath our sky.
A crisis made by human hand
A silent cry across the land.
But hope remains, if we will shift
Toward wiser ways, a needed gift.
Live with less, give more in kind,
Let conscience guide both heart and mind.
Conserve, restore, reduce the strain,
Let nature heal and thrive again.
This day is more than words or praise
It’s time to change our flawed old ways.
We owe the Earth, our children too
A world that’s green, alive, and true.
Let’s stand as stewards, brave and strong,
And walk with Earth where we belong.
